A Distinctive Model from Velorex History

This is an original vintage Velorex 700 sidecar, professionally refurbished and finished in a striking classic red and black combination.

The Velorex 700 is one of the more distinctive and less common models in the history of the famous Czechoslovak sidecar manufacturer.

Introduced in 1985, the Model 700 was developed as a newer and more modern successor to the long-running Velorex 562. Its streamlined body, tall passenger seat and distinctive profile gave it a noticeably different appearance from traditional European sidecars of the period.

Production of the Model 700 remained considerably lower than that of the 562, making surviving examples particularly interesting for Velorex and Jawa enthusiasts, collectors, and vintage motorcycle displays.

This is an authentic vintage Velorex 700 — not a modern reproduction.

Lightweight Fiberglass Construction

One of the characteristic features of Velorex sidecars is their relatively lightweight construction.

The sidecar combines a tubular steel frame with a molded fiberglass body. The body is supported on the frame with rubber mounting blocks.

The wheel is carried by a swingarm suspension with a shock absorber and coil spring, a construction characteristic of classic Velorex sidecars.

Compared with many traditional all-steel vintage sidecars, this construction provides a relatively lightweight package while retaining the distinctive structure and appearance of the original design.

Distinctive Model 700 Design

The Model 700 is immediately recognizable by its unusual, aerodynamic shape.

This example features a beautiful red upper body with a contrasting black lower section, matching red fender, tall upholstered passenger backrest, clear windshield, and classic spoked wheel.

The combination gives the sidecar a striking 1980s European retro appearance that is quite different from Ural, Dnepr, Izh and earlier Velorex designs.

Its relatively uncommon design makes it particularly attractive for a private collection, motorcycle showroom, exhibition, vintage display, restoration project, or custom motorcycle project.

This original vintage Velorex 700 has been carefully refurbished while preserving the character and distinctive design of the original sidecar.

Selected components have been restored or replaced where necessary, and the body has been professionally prepared and repainted.

A Rare Piece of Czechoslovak Motorcycle History

Velorex has a long connection with Jawa motorcycles and Czechoslovak motorcycle culture, and the Model 700 represents a particularly interesting later chapter in that history.

Unlike the far more common Model 562, the 700 was produced in substantially smaller numbers and introduced a more modern design language while retaining the lightweight construction associated with Velorex sidecars.

For a collector or enthusiast looking for something different from the traditional rounded Ural, Dnepr or early Velorex designs, the Velorex 700 is an especially distinctive vintage sidecar.

For transportation, the sidecar is partially disassembled and securely packed in a durable OSB shipping crate. Individual components are carefully protected inside the crates.
